About Katie’s Picture
For Thanksgiving I made and sold pies. I ended up making 21 pies at my house which was actually pretty fun. The problem with pies as opposed to cookies and other treats is that you can’t sample them as you’re making them. No one is going to pay you for a pie with a piece missing and the pac-man pie excuse is even less believable than it is with a pizza. So I was so excited that the dinner I went to had 33 people attending and required 6 of my pies and that I actually got to eat them myself. But can I just mention my pet peeve with lots of pie flavors? It’s the “can I just have a tiny slice of each?” request. I do it too, but that doesn’t make it any less annoying especially when you’re cutting.
About Sadie’s Picture
Most times I don’t really care about Holidays, they tend to annoy and stress me out more then I find them enjoyable. I don’t really like being dragged as a stray to other people’s dinners, and I have never felt the strong urge some people seem to have to spend them with family. I have spent many years in the ceramics studio making art rather then attending these family gatherings. (luckily for me Thanksgiving weekend was the last day to work so it offered me the perfect excuse to skip). However, this year I did both. I went out with my cousin, Impala, to my Aunt Karen’s house is Sequim, WA and had a fun time with them. It was one of the more relaxed Thanksgivings I have had, I even got to watch the football game with my Uncle Russ. I was also then a very welcomed ‘stray’ at a friend’s family dinner on Saturday (postponed due to black Friday marathon shopping) I think this was my most enjoyable, while also strangest, Thanksgiving of memory.
